In the event of an emergency, ie. caterer unable to deliver food, we will order regular cheese pizzas to ensure that children are fed in as timely manner as possible. Any sides not delivered shall be credited back to your account. If you prefer to opt out of this and be called to arrange your child’s lunch that day, please be sure to notify the PAC at funlunch.doncaster@gmail.com. We can also fully credit your account if you opt out and food as ordered is not delivered. See below for our policy on refunds. Though we do not anticipate this ever happening again, we heard parents who requested a contingency plan.
Would you like to order Fun Lunch? We are accepting online orders/payments. You can pay with a debit/credit card or with a PayPal account. Any orders that are not fully paid for by the ORDER CUT-OFF DATE will be automatically deleted so please note the cut-off date, as we will not be accepting payments up to the date of the hot lunch.
Fun Lunch Program is a PAC fundraiser that aims to provide fun, nutritious, and sustainable meals for everyone at our school. We rely on volunteers to run this program so please feel free to check the volunteer box whenever ordering if you can help distribute food on the day of delivery for that particular fun lunch. We are committed to inclusion of all students and dietary backgrounds. For each hot lunch, we will attempt to balance nutritious, low-cost meals with additional options for students with various dietary restrictions (often at a higher cost due to sourcing restaurants that are strict with regards to no cross contamination of restricted foods).
Please note: We cannot provide refunds for fun lunches cancelled due to unforeseen school closures (royal funeral, snow day, job action etc.). We can only provide refunds once per year at the end of the year in June in the form of e-transfers or cheque, and only for amounts above $5. Amounts of $5 and below shall be donated back to the PAC to fund school initiatives. We also cannot provide refunds requested AFTER ORDER CUT-OFF DATES (since the food will have been ordered and likely prepared). If your child cannot attend school on the day of hot lunch, please inform the teacher and make arrangements for food pick up or donation.
We appreciate your understanding that all proceeds from the Fun Lunch program fund important school initiatives.
No student will be denied the opportunity to participate because of an inability to pay. Please let the school office know if these are your circumstances.
A Few Friendly Reminders...
This is a volunteer position to give all of our kids this program.
If you have missed the order deadline and are unable to place an order, unfortunately, it is too late to order.
The only Fun Lunch days we are currently accepting orders for are the ones that are open and available for ordering; if there are none available, please check back when you receive the email saying orders have opened. You may also refer back to the previous Fun Lunch email(s) for information.
While we appreciate allergies and dietary considerations and are doing our best to accommodate them where we can, please be an advocate for your child and do your due diligence by reaching out to the vendor directly to check for allergens and to make sure their food is safe for your child. This information can often be found with a quick Google search or search on the vendor website.
Please do not email the office or the school for information about Fun Lunch.
Please consider ordering an allergy-inclusive meal for your child as per the recommendations of your child's teacher at the start of the school year.
